Then, version 2.0 landed

July 27th, 2008

And finally here it is: I launched right now this site’s redesign. I haven’t put a lot of work on it but I’m pleased with the final results. I like minimalism and monochrome designs, and even though this isn’t the most minimalist design ever, I think it’s a good compromise. Taking advantage from opportunity, I added some new features to the site (and removed some old ones).

The biggest change is the right column: now integrates my pownce feed. I’m still trying to understand why it doesn’t show nothing but simple posts, but I’ll fix it someday (that’s not my fault though, I’m using a wordpress plugin). And all the stuff that previously were on the right, now are on the very bottom of the page.

Just a couple of rants: I wish this was powered from django and I hate wordpress.

Moved (again)!

August 30th, 2007

This is a double post: it will be published on two different blogs. The great news is that I bought a domain and I have a new hoster, so from now on I’ll publish all my posts on the other blog. The wordpress.com platform was very restrictive to me, so I had to move toward a much more complete web hosting platform.

So it’s time to move away again. This time the site will be hosted on friend’s server (thanks!), and I’ll have my own domain. So, please update your bookmarks, the new URL is http://zeta-puppis.com and the feed URL is http://zeta-puppis.com/feed/.

Where did you go?

April 24th, 2007

I know, you are about to go crazy asking yourself where does your favorite geek gone. No, I’ve not been kidnapped from aliens, neither been raped from a monkey. And no, I’m not about to go on the Moon with Bill Gates.

I just have a lot to do, due to university and work. I’m currently studying to give 5 exams (didn’t passed not even one, yet, but these are just details), studying the django application framework and working on two different php projects for work.

As regards django, I guess I’ll write something down as soon as I’ll learn how to use it better. Because it is an exceptional project.

And the rumours were right: I’m working on a new personal site, but it will be ready for summer (because it is EXCEPTIONAL, REVOLUTIONARY AND MAGNIFIC, as all the things I do).

Moved

September 2nd, 2006

I moved the blog from blogspot to wordpress.com. Why? Well, I have several reasons.

First, blogspot is not really customizable: apart from to edit the template you can’t add or modify any existing item. You can’t make subsections, you can’t sort the posts by category, you can’t tag anything. That should be enough, but it isn’t.

You can’t post passworded items, you can’t give your feedback a different url in an easy way, you can’t do many (many and many and many) things you can, instead, do with wordpress.com.

So here I am, update your bookmarks and follow me. This hoster also have a nice feature, I imported all the blogspot old posts here with a simple wizard.

In next days I’ll fix the missing items (for example most of the images are missing, they’re hosted on blogspot and looks like if they put some kinda filter to prevent the images being accessed from other hosts), so continue visiting me…
